Featured Business: Harlan Animal Hospital  Founded in 1978 by Dr. C.C. Mickey D.V.M. at Woodland Hills as a satellite location for his Middlesboro practice, Harlan Animal Hospital has taken on a life of it’s own. Dr. Mickey and his son, Doug Mickey D.V.M., of Bell County, alternated their time at the hospital for several years. After Dr. C.C. Mickey retired in 2004, his son has devoted himself entirely to the Harlan business and intends to see it grow to provide as many services to clients and patients as are required by the community. In the past few years, the facility has added new equipment and technology, as well as renovated the entire basement to be used for office space and an employee lounge, doubling the size of the facility for their growing staff and patients. Harlan Animal Hospital serves all of southeastern Kentucky, providing medical, surgical, diagnostic and dental services to all kinds of small animals, and they are happy to refer larger animals or special cases to other facilities.
